Temperature Management for LiFePO4 Batteries

LiFePO4 batteries perform well in various conditions, but extreme temperatures can affect their efficiency and lifespan.

In Hot Weather:

  • Avoid direct sunlight and ensure proper ventilation.
  • Keep operating temps below 45°C (113°F).
  • Consider cooling systems for high-load applications.

In Cold Weather:

  • Charging below 0°C (32°F) can cause lithium plating—use a battery heater if necessary.
  • Discharge performance may drop, so account for reduced capacity.
  • Store batteries in insulated enclosures in freezing conditions.

Proper temperature management ensures optimal performance year-round.
