Self-Discharge and Storage Issues in GEL Batteries

GEL batteries naturally lose charge over time. Common storage problems include:

  • Self-Discharge: Even when unused, the battery slowly drains energy.
  • Extreme Temperatures: Hot storage conditions accelerate self-discharge, while freezing temperatures can damage the electrolyte.
  • Lack of Maintenance Charging: Long storage without recharging leads to irreversible capacity loss.

For proper storage, keep the battery in a cool, dry place and recharge it every 3-6 months.
