- Safety First: Before handling the battery, make sure you’re wearing protective gloves and goggles, as battery acid is corrosive.
- Check the Water Level: Open the battery caps and check the electrolyte level. It should always cover the plates but not exceed the maximum fill line.
- Use Distilled Water: If the water level is low, add distilled water. Never use tap water, as it contains minerals that can interfere with the battery’s chemical reactions.
